About Mr. Lane

Howdy!

Please let me introduce myself — I am Mr. Peter Lane and this is my fourth year teaching the Effective Reading course and eighth year at Mitchell Middle School.  I have found teaching this class to be a tremendously rewarding experience — it is so exciting to see each student make strides to become a better reader.  I feel extremely lucky to work with each of you.

Outside of school, I love playing with my two sons and spending time with my wife.  My hobbies include gardening, hiking, and watching sports (lots of it).  Obviously, I thoroughly enjoy reading — if I didn’t, it would be very hard to convince you (the students in my classes) that there is value in reading for pleasure and for information.  I like to keep myself involved with at least two books at a time (one upstairs, one downstairs) so I can always find something to read when I get the time.
